How it all started...
The church began in 1980, as a home fellowship in Wrightwood. The fellowship grew quickly to the place where it was necessary to rent a building for the services. So, in 1981, the fellowship began to meet on Sunday as Higher Ground Christian Fellowship and was incorporated under that name in 1987. The Lord has richly blessed the church and in 1989, and the name of the church was changed to “Calvary Chapel.” It is our prayer that God continues to bless and to use the people of Calvary Chapel to minister to the High Desert.
