Calvary Chapel of Phelan has been formed as a fellowship of believer in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our sincere desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only the overemphasis of non-biblical traditions and doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ. We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
Calvary Chapel bases its teaching, attributes and church growth on these following scriptures:
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and prayers. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42, 46-47

WE BELIEVE :
That there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.
Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14
WE BELIEVE :
That the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired, inerrant, authoritative in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice.
2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21
WE BELIEVE…
In God the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
John 4:24, Romans 5:6-10, 1 John 3:1
WE BELIEVE…
In Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and His personal, visible return to earth.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8, John 1:14, Acts 1:9-11
WE BELIEVE…
In the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit.
John 14:16-17, John 16:7-8, Acts 1:8
WE BELIEVE…
That all people are sinners by nature and choice and therefore, are deserving of condemnation; and that God, who is rich in mercy, regenerates by the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord; that Jesus Christ seals believers with the Holy Spirit, empowering them for service.
Romans 3:10,23; Romans 5:6, Ephesians 2:1-8, Colossians 1:13-14
WE BELIEVE…
In the personal, visible return of Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked.
Revelations 1:7, John 19:37, Matthew 24:29
WE BELIEVE…
In the need for discipleship and training for the perfecting of the saints and for the work of the ministry. That Christ has called His church to go out and make disciples. That following Jesus and serving Him requires sacrifice and commitment. That training means being equipped and not just educated or informed.
Acts 2:24, Ephesians 4:12, 2 Corinthians 13:9
WE BELIEVE…
In what is termed “The Apostle’s Creed” as embodying fundamental facts of the Christian faith.
